
Going vegan with soy.
Soybean is a specie of legume and originated from East Asia widely grown for its edible bean and has many uses. Soy is completely protein. This means that it contains all nine essential amino acid. They also contain calcium for strong bones , iron , magnesium and potassium which is beneficial to the immune system.

It is an important source of protein for many people, especially those who follow a vegan or vegetarian diet. Soybeans are low in saturated fat and high in protein, folate and vitamin C. It can be used as a substitute that specifically looks like meat,poultry and fish products in taste,texture,color and form. Soya beans comes in many colors including green which is also called edamame

Adding soya to your diet helps to lower cholestrol as well as reduce the risk against certain types of cancer. You gain a lot of benefits from replacing foods like red meat and other meats saturated in high fat. This helps reduce blood pressure. These days many people especially vegans ,vegetarians eat soy products frequently. Many women include soya in their diet at their menopausal stage .

In Ghana, soya bean production is currently effective now as a cash crop of high economic value to farmers. Soy foods have replaced food and meat that cause obesity and other health related issues and the demand for soy products is very impressive.

Many Ghanaians have fallen for soya beans. It is therefore important to realize the importance of the food industry’s role in transforming our unhealthy eating habits and adopting good lifestyles.
